Sun safety is everything, no matter what age you are, but if you’re travelling with children, it becomes even more important to make sure that your littles ones are protected from the harsh rays of that big ball of fire in the sky.
You can check out travel blog sites to give you a real insight into tried and tested opinions, and I find that blogging sites really are the best port of call to find out the truth. If you’re keen to find the right option for your child’s skin on your next travel adventure, we’re going to talk about five of the best sunscreen lotions for kids, to help you make your choice.
Babytime! – Episencial Sunny Sunscreen
Head online and check out this fantastic sunscreen, which as a traveling blogger, I certainly rate as one of the best. It is developed specifically for young children and babies, and helps to protect very sensitive and young skin against the harsh effects of the sun. It is not a greasy cream, and it soaks into the skin really easily, with a lightweight formula. It is water resistant for up to an hour, but it is always best to keep applying it, just to be on the safe side. One of the main ingredients is green tea, as well as aloe, which all helps to moisturise at the same time!
Neutrogena Wet Skin Kids
Neutrogena are a big brand name in the skincare world, so that should give you peace of mind from the get-go. This sunscreen has water-based splashing in mind, as it is water resistant for up to 80 minutes. Again, it is best to reapply regularly, but at least you have a bit more peace of mind than otherwise. Again, this is a lightweight, easily absorbed lotion, and it is hypoallergenic, as most Neutrogena products are, so it is suitable for all types of skin.
Coppertone Water Babies Lotion
This is actually a foaming sunscreen, which is a totally unique idea! The plus point is that you can see where you’re applying the sunscreen, and that means less chance of missing a spot which is then going to burn. The foam rubs into the skin really easily and is hypoallergenic, to avoid any irritation. Again, you can get 80 minuets of water resistant fun, and as a side note, it smells pretty good too!
Alba Botanica – Kids Mineral Sunscreen
If your child has sensitive skin, this particular sunscreen is great, because it is hypoallergenic, gluten-free, and contains all manner of ingredients that soothe and moisturise, whilst protecting against UVA and UVB rays. Water resistant for another 80 minutes, the ingredients are also great for the environment, so you don’t have to worry about your child doing damage to the underwater world whilst splashing around.
Mustela High Protection Sunscreen
This is another product which is ideal for sensitive skin, as well as skin which is intolerant to many different substances. You can use this lotion on babies and young children, and it is SPF 50, so is classified as a block. One of the main ingredients is aloe vera, so you get moisturising effects, whilst also being water resistant and gentle overall.
Your children are your most precious gifts, so don’t take any risks when it comes to protecting them on your travel adventures.
